About Pearls & Plaid

I am so grateful you guys are here! Pearls & Plaid started as a dream and has grown into more than I ever thought possible thanks to you. I opened the first shop in 2014 in the quaint town of East Haddam, CT. I was three months pregnant and I thought I was opening a gift store, we opened with only three styles of clothing. Quickly we turned into a full apparel shop with accessories! I opened the next shop in Old Saybrook, CT in May of 2016. Two shops and a baby became very hard so we moved all operations to Old Saybrook in January of 2017. In September of 2018 in true Caroline fashion at eight months pregnant I moved the Old Saybrook store to a bigger location on Post Road. 2020 was rough but I was determined to make it out alive!!! I doubled down and opened Post Road Supply! Post Road is located through the same doors as Pearls and Plaid and offers mens clothing! In 2021 my dream of owning a shop on Main Street came to life! We purchased our forever home and you can now find Pearls & Plaid and Post Road Supply at 117 Main Street, Old Saybrook! In spring of 2023 I made the big decision to open a second location! In the adorable town of Niantic, CT. Located on Main Street in The Norton Building with Sift Bakery. My goal has always been to bring wearable and affordable clothes to the women and now men of the CT shoreline!
