Pegasus Orthobiologics is redefining equine regenerative medicine by taking the guesswork out of orthobiologics. Historically, products like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) have been unreliable. Because blood cell counts change throughout the day, and because every horse’s biology is different, the PRP produced with a commercial kit can vary widely. In fact, the same kit, used on two horses––or even the same horse at different times––may yield very different results. Pegasus changes this. We use a state-of-the-art hematology analyzer to measure every component of the PRP. By knowing each patient’s exact cell counts, we can: Standardize: Guarantee a therapeutic platelet dose with consistently low red and white cell level Customize: Tailor the PRP to the unique biology of each horse and the tissue or joint being treated. Advance Research: Collect patient data (age, history, platelet recovery, and more) to refine our methods and drive forward equine regenerative medicine.
