The Philosophy Behind The Fashion Copenhagen/London based, Pelechecoco, is a sustainable fashion brand that centres on recycled fabrics. Designer Sophie Schandorff and managing director Dan Vaarskov source a vast array of vintage leather and other fabric treasures from around the globe. In a world where fashion has become a disposable luxury, where trends come and go faster than ever before, it is our passion at Pelechecoco to recycle as much of these seemingly outdated and long forgotten products and breath new life into them. Old leather jackets, coats, skirts and other items of vintage clothing are sourced, reworked and recycled into attainable, on-trend styles that create forward thinking fashion with respect and care for the planet. As well as leather, Pelechecoco uses recycled fabrics from Tribes in and around the Himalayas, such as Hmong and Yao. We feel it is important to not only recycle different materials but to support minorities in their tribal habitat which is so thrillingly far away from the fashion industry we know today. We continue to broaden our spectrum of fabrics and materials for the endless inspiration and joy it brings. We feel it is essential for us to push ourselves into unknown creative territory, create vivid design using exotic and rare materials to bring the collections to life. It is our vision to be competitive within the industry without compromising on what lies very close to our hearts; beautifully crafted yet sustainable fashion.
