Pelorus Eco Adventures is a dynamic New Zealand kayaking company that offers fully guided kayak tours on the Pelorus River. Whether this is your first time on the water or you are experienced in river kayaking, the beautiful Pelorus River has a lot to offer. Our tours are suitable for all experience levels! Join our friendly guides on an eye-opening, exhilarating adventure kayaking down the wild Pelorus River, used in the filming of the second Hobbit movie “The Desolation of Smaug”. This is the most tangible kayaking HOBBIT activity in the whole world – a real LoTR fans dream! Our base is at the Blue Moon Lodge, our very own family run hostel in the little historical town of Havelock, also known as the Greenshell Mussel Capital of the World, located right in the middle of the spectacular Marlborough Sounds, South Island, New Zealand. We run a family business aimed at family fun on the river. You’ll have the best possible outdoor experience with our kayak tours, which take you through easy rapids in our incredibly stable, inflatable tandem canoes. We supply a full set of safety equipment and dry jackets for those big splashes. Tours depart daily from the Blue Moon Lodge in Havelock. We also offer mountain bike shuffles to the Wakamarina & Nydia tracks. Biking enthusiasts from all over the world come to New Zealand to ride in the famous NZ Enduro, encompassing the Nydia, Wakamarina, and Whites Bay single tracks. Come to ride any of these beautiful trails and experience an unforgettable cycling journey, while enjoying the stunning scenery and rich kiwi culture of the South Island.
