About PEMconsult A/S
PEMconsult is an international consultancy company dedicated to delivering high quality services in Environment and Management, with special focus on water, sanitation, climate change, and financial management. A multidisciplinary consulting company, PEM was established in 1995 by a core team of development professionals seeing critical need for combining cross-sectoral expertise. This team forms the centre for our operations, with 7 partners, 6 associate consultants, and 2 staff managing operations at PEM's headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. PEMconsult has an affiliated company, PEM East Africa. The multi-sectoral expertise of our team includes institutional development, management at central and decentralised levels and human resources specialists, economists and financial management specialists, public – private sector specialists, environmental specialists, and a wide range of other specialised fields such as sociologists, anthropologists, engineers, foresters and agronomists. During the last 23 years, PEM has carried out more than 1100 assignments in over 98 countries worldwide in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, with an annual fee turnover of approximately 2 million USD. The main part of our work is in developing countries. PEMconsult has comprehensive experience in project design and formulation, design and implementation of capacity building and training programmes, sector wide programming, data collection and monitoring and evaluation, planning and sector investment planning, evaluation of aid programmes and projects, studies, as well as actual project implementation. The critical foundation of all of our work is the importance of understanding the perspective of the people involved in these processes, empowering them both as groups and as individuals. As development professionals, fulfilling our role as listeners and facilitators in these processes is essential to achieving sustainable solutions.
