Peña & Co. is not your average management consulting firm. Aside from professional services, we also provide services to the first-generation community, those who are the first in their family to earn a college degree. Not all first-generation college students begin college on an equal playing field, despite our experiences being combined into one; the first-generation experience. Socio-economic factors contribute to some students experiencing a smoother transition to college while others take longer to adjust. We recognize this as a gap in today's approach to support first-generation students and believe individualized support will fill the void. Mission – To be the most trusted destination for all first-gen students and professionals by lighting their paths to success. Values UNFILTERED - Navigating college or a career as a first-gen is not always a clear path; often there is no path. Our journeys can be exhausting and constantly leave us in "survival mode". By sharing unfiltered experiences we hope to build a sense of community and solidarity. INCLUSIVE - Our diverse backgrounds present unique perspectives on the first-generation experience. We understand that each journey is different and therefore believe that support for each student should be individualized and inclusive. TRANSPARENT - Transparency leads to trust and trust leads to empowerment. Expressing our stories in their most raw and authentic form allows us to appreciate and recognize the struggles first-gens face every day. What better way to express our stories than to tell it how it is.
