About Pender Community Hospital
Pender Community Hospital District (PCHD) is a forward-thinking non-profit organization based in Northeast Nebraska with roughly $30M of annual revenue. Not only does our district proudly operate Pender Community Hospital – an award-winning 21-bed critical access hospital– but four rural health clinics, three retail pharmacies, a child development center, and two facilities for aging adults and seniors. Our district consists of the western two-thirds of Thurston County, approximately 100 square miles of Cuming County and smaller sections of Burt and Wayne Counties. Our operation is comprised of roughly 300 staff members, including 4 full-time physicians and 5 mid-level providers. Our team strives to ensure the people within our community have high-quality, full-spectrum care close to home. We do this with an extremely wide offering of innovative services combined with the implementation of the latest technology and equipment. We were proud to be Nebraska’s first critical access hospital to offer robotic-assisted surgeries in 2019 and have recently been honored with the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital award for the 3rd consecutive year.
