About Penn-Sylvan

Penn-Sylvan International’s key to success is our personnel’s many years of hands-on experience in both export marketing and the domestic hardwood industry. Our operation includes dry kilns, grading stations, and kiln dried storage, in addition to two sawmill operations situated in the northwestern Appalachian region. We buy our timber from the abundant wood lots of local government agencies as well as from private land owners. The hardwood timber in this area is known for its consistent color, tight grain configuration and excellent woodworking properties. In this area one will find the largest combination of Black Cherry, Soft and Hard Maple, Red and White Oak, Poplar, Ash and Walnut in North America. We also have veneer quality and number one saw logs available for worldwide distribution. The available rich timber resource of the surrounding region enables Penn-Sylvan to meet the competitive demand for consistent grain, color and configuration in both logs and lumber. After kiln drying all lumber is reinspected prior to shipment. Details of packaging, tallying, and documentation are controlled to meet strenuous export requirements.
