About PenTAG (Peninsula Technology Assessment Group)
PenTAG is the team of researchers within ESMI that specialise in conducting health technology assessments for national policymakers in England and Wales. PenTAG is one of several university-based research groups in the UK contracted to produce high-quality systematic reviews and economic analyses of health technologies for NICE, the UK National Screening Committee and the NIHR Evidence Synthesis Programme. In addition, staff members actively seek additional research funding in areas of interest to them, often stemming from work commissioned by NICE or NIHR. Our research staff come from a variety of backgrounds, including specialists in systematic review methods, health economics, information science, computer science and statistics. We are additionally able to draw on substantial expertise from other groups in the Medical School, such as the Health Statistics and Health Economics groups.
