About People Like Us
Come and meet People Like Us. People Like Us is more than an ethnic networking event, it’s a gathering for and celebration of Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic media and marcomms professionals. We hope this simple gesture, of allowing the time and space to celebrate ourselves will nudge our respective industries forward. Who are we? We're two brothers (Sheeraz Gulsher & Darain Faraz) who work in comms and have decided to launch a networking group for minority ethnic professionals working in media and marketing communications. What is it? A quarterly social gathering to celebrate the work of media and marcomms professionals from minority ethnic backgrounds. Whether you’re a PR, a marketer, journalist or expert in social media, we’d love for you to join us for an evening of drinks, nibbles and general good times. Why? The lack of diversity in our industry is not a new problem, and while we’re here hoping to address it, we want to do a bit more than just that; we want to have fun doing it. At this event, there will be no panel discussions. No bloody white papers.
