About Pepper Tree Wines
For nearly thirty years, Pepper Tree has been a beacon for quality wine in the heart of Hunter wine country. Founded in 1991, Pepper Tree continues to flourish as one of the stalwart wine companies of the region. Pepper Tree started with a focus on grapes from the Hunter Valley but today the roots run deep for owner John Davis with vineyard sites in four premium wine growing regions across Australia. Almost three decades on, Pepper Tree is making consistently great wines, drawing on these vineyards situated in the Hunter and Orange in NSW to prized patches of soil in Coonawarra and Wrattonbully in South Australia. You could say it’s the best of four worlds. Our Commitment to the four regions in which John Davis has invested so much of his time and expertise in are the driving force behind all we do. The Hunter Valley represents us but the roots of the tree spread through all four regions. Vigneron and Owner, John Davis saw the potential of the Hunter Valley and continued to find other sites to complement his prized vineyards. Due to his Geology background he sought the perfect soils to grow grapes. Orange in New South Wales, as well as Coonawarra and Wrattonbully in the Limestone coast complemented his prized vineyard assets ensuring there are premium grapes from four diverse regions. With a start of the art 1000 ton winery, Pepper Tree produces between 45,000 to 55,000 cases of wine annually. Pepper Tree runs its own dedicated marketing, sales and export teams, allowing us to deal directly with our consumers. This practice along with our vineyards and the passion and expertise of our team is what makes Pepper Tree Wines what it is today.
