About Perkins Engineering & Management Consulting

I founded Perkins Engineering & Management Consulting (PerkinsE+MC) to help industry and government teams deliver high-reliability engineering and R&D projects—especially when the stakes are high and the path forward is unclear. With over 25 years of hands-on leadership in first-of-a-kind developments across energy, aerospace, and national labs, I bring both strategic guidance and direct execution. My goal is to ensure critical projects align with stakeholder needs, manage risk effectively, and maintain momentum from concept through completion. I support clients by evaluating or performing key project activities such as: • Auditing engineering and project management practices • Defining and validating requirements • Conducting risk assessments and mitigation planning • Developing or refining scope, WBS, and FBS structures • Managing change and setting actionable milestones • Leading or reviewing engineering design processes • Evaluating or defining test plans for comprehensive verification and validation • Facilitating post-project evaluations and lessons learned • Assessing safety and security elements of technical projects • Establish and supporting high tech manufacturing product lines • Provide impactful training (cf. Introduction to project management for non-project managers; Work place safety; Tritium safety and handling; etc.) I thrive in environments where clarity, trust, and technical depth make the difference—and where bridging strategy and delivery leads to lasting impact.
