About Petal To The Metal Floral Design

Petal To The Metal Floral Design first came to life with our first shop opening in Abbotsford Victoria in 2009. Founder, Camilo Undurraga was looking for a city presence and to immerse himself in the music, design and arts culture, hence the name, which reflects his love of music and design. At the same time co-owning another florist in Balnarring the commute from the Mornington Peninsula to Footscray for Market twice and week and stocking and working in two shops with that great a distance finally took its toll. With the success Petal To The Metal had in the city and even with the potential future growth the hard decision was made to come home, back to the Mornington Peninsula and focus on Custom Corporate and Event work. In 2015 Karen Lewis came on board, after 15 years of working as a Marketing Coordinator. “I saw the potential and passion Camilo had for Petal To The Metal Floral Design so we made a leap of faith and I joined him in the business. I felt the Floral Designs really do speak for themselves but they needed a louder voice.” In May 2015 we created a brand new website, marketing collateral and became more active in the social media world. Camilo who has a background of Art and Design fell into the industry and hasn’t looked back. Winner of Floral Design awards and People’s Choice Awards at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in 2013 and again in 2016 in the So you think you can Arch Competition. Along with 1st place at the 2016 Victorian Spring Garden & Lifestyle Show.
