About Pétanque England
Pétanque is pronounced <PêTanK> and was established in the south of France 110 years ago to be an inclusive sport for everyone. Part of the family of boules sports, pétanque is enjoyed by all. We have over 2800 members of all ages, mobilities and abilities in a 177 clubs, across 16 regions. We welcome and support a full spectrum of those who enjoy the game socially, to those who want to compete internationally at elite level. Formerly the English Pétanque Association, we are the national governing body for the sport in England and are officially recognised by Sport England. We are members of the world governing body, the Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP) and the European governing body, the Confédération Européenne de Pétanque (CEP), we are also members of the Sport + Recreation Alliance.
