Phase Forward Solutions is a project management consulting & service provider specialized in games and interactive entertainment media. Initially established to collaborate with colleges and education providers on their project management curriculums, clients have expanded to include independent game developers, interactive media and e-learning solutions. I work with clients to understand their vision, objectives, pain points and business aspirations in order to assess, revise and implement production methodologies to help them meet their objectives. This could range from their high-level production framework to low-level production processes to providing hands-on project management support to launch their projects on time and quality. Services are tailored per client, but a general flow would be as below: • Map out the client’s business goals, constraints, timelines, targets, and KPIs for success. • Collaborate with the client’s stakeholders and teams to analyze the current production processes, tools, team structures, risks & issues; categorize what’s working, what’s not, and formulate a prioritized list of action items. • Work with leadership and team members to propose a tailored production framework for success, including the high-level aspects (phases & gates production roadmap + milestone acceptance criteria), the low-level processes (backlog, definitions-of-done, task distribution & tracking, reporting), team re-org (feature teams vs strike teams vs service teams), and anything in between. • Support as needed: run workshops, facilitate planning sessions, and provide training curriculums to help with process improvements and integration.
