When mates get together to brew a beer, it often doesn't start with commercial ambitions, instead just being a way to catch up - but sometimes it turns into much much more........ Phat Brew Club was formed by a bunch of mates who met at their local football club and decided to get into homebrewing together. Regular brew days and a passion for good beer led to the group deciding to make the leap and start to can and keg their brews for everyone to enjoy. The dream was really kicked off in 2020, when the group of mates won the Margaret River Brewhouse Backyard Brewing competition with their Coffee Cream Porter; their prize included brewing their award-winning recipe on the MRB kit and having it poured at the venue. It was an opportunity that gave the ambitious garage brewers a push to take things further. “The win gave us the confidence that our beers were good enough to be brewed at a commercial scale,” says Trav, one of PBC Crew. “After having the opportunity to commercially brew Phat Porter with Margaret River Brewhouse, we set up the company and went about brewing our first release, a Fruit Salad Sour called Phatizzle.” Phat Brew Club is about having fun together and creating a culture of good times where everyone can be a part of it. We pride ourselves on creating beers that “live on the edge” and bringing people together, while brewing creatively without limits.
