About Philadelphia Youth Action

Youth Action (YA) is a student-led civic engagement non-profit that inspires students to have an impact on their communities. Through creative service learning training and programming. YA provides high school and college students with leadership tools and resources to craft innovative service projects geared to increasing their peers’ involvement with leadership and service. Objectives: (1) To develop student volunteers, leaders, activists and community organizers through organizing innovative events and programming (2) To increase Philadelphia students awareness of tools, resources, and networks available to create social change in their communities (3) To have youth train their peers on the art of community organizing and non-profit leadership Vision: Youth Action hopes to become a national model for successful service endeavors in the nation. We hope to service thousands of young people and encourage them to become agents of positive social change. Still growing as an emerging organization in the non-profit sector, Youth Action has proven itself to be a passageway for young students of color to uncover and exercise their voice in society's affairs. Through annual service projects and efforts towards youth empowerment, many students have been mobilized in becoming agents of change and servants in their communities. YA's goal is to cultivate an environment where young leaders are able to address issues of their concern and work in an innovative and effective manner.
