Phoenix Heli-Flight Inc. (Phoenix) is a charter helicopter company operating from its main base and headquarters at the Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada airport. Phoenix is a privately owned company that has been in operation for 30 years and is a regional leader concentrating on providing the most modern types and models of aircraft possible. Since starting business in 1991 with one plain white, leased AStar, Phoenix has grown its fleet of helicopters to be the most modern in Canada. Phoenix Heli-Flight operates a fleet of ten Airbus (formerly Eurocopter) manufactured aircraft, including both single and twin turbine engine light helicopters. We pride ourselves on offering low time aircraft equipped with leading-edge technology to our clients. The level of our operational professionalism and aircraft quality far exceeds current industry practices and standards that are found throughout the helicopter charter industry. Phoenix Heli-Flight services a wide variety of industries including exploration, wildlife surveys, utilities, oil and gas, forestry, construction, infrastructure maintenance, corporate transport, general transportation of personnel and freight and wildfire suppression. Phoenix also operates the Local HERO Foundation’s EC135, providing 24/7 dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) to Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo area with seven stretcher equipped helicopters as backup. Phoenix Heli-Flight operates from well appointed facilities at the Fort McMurray Airport. Our facilities include an operations hangar with offices and customer reception area, and a maintenance hangar with areas for parts storage, shipping and receiving, training courses and maintenance tasks.
