About Pick Her Up Basketball
Pick Her Up Basketball (PHU) provides a much-needed space for women to play the game they love, build friendships, and find community in a supportive all-female environment. Founded in March 2016 by Emma Leyden, Pick Her Up averages 25 women a week and has grown into an ever-growing community of over 400 women. The message was clear: if you build it, they will come. And they came: former professional overseas players, rusty ballers who hadn't touched a ball in years, moms with little ones on the sidelines, new high school graduates, and every one in between. No more holding your own as a woman and having to prove yourself time and time again against the guys. PHU gives women a place to simply play ball and pick each other up -- both on and off the court.
