As part of the Virginia Community College System, PVCC serves the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Since the College opened in 1972, more than 213,000 students have taken credit and noncredit classes, and PVCC has awarded more than 12,000 associate degrees and certificates.
