About Pierattelli Architetture
Founded by architect Massimo Pierattelli in Florence in the 1980s, today Pierattelli Architetture is also led by his sons Andrea and Claudio. With a team of 20 professionals, the studio expanded its presence by opening a branch in Milan in 2022. Ranging from residential to hospitality and product design, each project by Pierattelli Architetture is conceived as a bespoke intervention, born from a deep understanding of the cultural and historical context. Initially specialized in designing corporate headquarters — such as the Kortimed business center in Valencia, the Arval headquarters in Scandicci, and the UnipolSai Learning Center at Villa Cicogna in Bologna — the studio has distinguished itself over the years for its respectful approach to environmental dialogue, promoting conscious transformation. This style, characterized by formal simplicity and local materials, is reflected in more recent projects such as historic villas and apartments, including Villa il Gioiello in Florence, Villa M in Fiesole, and the Oltrarno Apartment in Florence. In the hospitality sector, Pierattelli Architetture has created projects that blend past and present, respecting existing structures while embracing contemporary uses and functions. Notable examples include Yellow Square in Florence, which redefined the concept of the contemporary hostel, and Pieve Aldina, a boutique hotel in Chianti and part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, born from the renovation of a former 12th-century episcopal complex. In product design, the studio developed the Reflex collection for IB Rubinetti and the Miki armchair for Lema, presented at the 2024 Salone del Mobile.
