About Pierre-Yves Caër Gallery
Pierre-Yves Caër Gallery, located in Paris, is the only art gallery in France solely dedicated to Japanese contemporary art. Founded in November 2016 by Pierre-Yves Caër, who lived for five years in Japan, the gallery represents artists whose works relate to Japanese culture, either by referring to specific aspects of Japan history or society, or by rejuvenating long-lasting styles and artistic practices. Through their specific education and life experiences, all represented artists have developed original styles and strong artistic concepts. The gallery’s objectives are twofold: opening the French market to emerging contemporary artists who had never been exhibited there before, and leading French collectors to get to know a little bit more of the sober though extremely elaborated Japanese art, often based on century-old techniques mastered to exceptional levels. Pierre-Yves Caër Gallery’s first exhibition will be held in fall 2017.
