Pierway Associates is a professional career services firm that provides entry level job coaching to current, soon to graduate or newly graduated college students. Recognizing that the world of work and how to conduct a successful job search is not something students are taught in college, nor can it easily be learned on one’s own, John Weidner decided in 2009 to convert his consulting firm, Pierway Associates, into a career services firm targeting the newly minted college graduate. Even in the most robust of economies, to land a job, a graduate must learn how to conduct an aggressive and proactive job search. To do so the graduate needs to assess their strengths and interests, develop an effective “elevator speech”, create a powerful resume, learn the art of effective networking, and ultimately, learn how to ace the interview. Through Pierway’s various programs and services as well as prior to the founding of Pierway, John Weidner has helped numerous young people develop these essential skills, helping them to gain an informed and competitive edge as they began their careers.
