About Pilgrims' Inn

Pilgrims' Inn is a 501(c)3 organization located in Rock Hill, SC. Our mission is to provide shelter, assistance, and supportive services to the community’s most vulnerable citizens. Pilgrims' Inn offers residential assistance to those in need through our Dorothy Bing Inn Shelter and Tricia's Court Apartments. The Dorothy Bing Inn Shelter has a 14 bed capacity for women and children needing shelter from homeless and domestic violence environments. Our Tricia’s Court Apartments house families in one of ten safe, comfortable units; we charge rent according to income only. Tenants may enter the apartments through one of two programs – Transitional Housing, which allows for up to a 1-year lease while the tenant works on additional education, career advancement, etc. to achieve independence; or, the Shelter Plus Care program, which provides supportive permanent housing to individuals with mental health conditions that make it difficult for them to remain stable on their own. Our Open Arms Child Care is a low cost child care center with an academic program that helps children achieve their developmental benchmarks, and specifically prepares our 4-year-old students to enter kindergarten with the same skill levels as their peers. In addition, teaching staff are trained to recognize signs of abuse, developmental delays, medical problems, and learning disabilities and to make appropriate referrals when necessary. We also provide parents with important classes on parenting skills, budgeting, etc. Our Emergency Assistance Food Pantry receives groceries and household items donated by individual donors, companies, and local food banks. These donations are then distributed to members of the community that need additional assistance in providing food for themselves and their family. Each year, we serve roughly 5,000 households, comprised of 9,000 individuals, totaling a combined weight of over 100,000 pounds of food distributed yearly.
