We manufacture architectural and automotive glass in St Helens, where the company was established in 1826. In 1959 Sir Alastair Pilkington invented the Float Process, which remains the world standard process for flat glass manufacture. Our industry-leading glass coating facility, also in St Helens, gives our glass properties such as Solar Control, Low Emissivity, Electrical Conductivity, and even Bird Safety! The Pilkington brand is synonymous with technical excellence and service in the glass industry. We distribute our glass to an international customer base, either as stock or as bespoke processed products, direct from St Helens or through our network of nationwide branches. Our parent company, NSG Group, has set a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2018 levels and has been certified as a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). As part of this, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
