About PillPacPlus

We create and develop automated compliance systems for healthcare professionals and patients. Our robotic systems work hand in hand with healthcare staff, using digital means to improve the efficiency and accuracy of medication management and dispensation. We offer solutions to healthcare workers in pharmacy for weekly medication packaging, de-blistering and self-collection. In care settings, we have developed an app-based eMar to manage medication administration. In 2014, PillPacPlus was born out of desperation in community pharmacy. Pharmacists Gillian and Lindsay Gracey, and Stephen Burns had travelled all over Europe, searching for an answer to the age-old question of providing effective compliance aids for the increasing volume of patients who needed them. For years, their busy pharmacy in Ballymena had been full to bursting with MDS trays, cramped by the staff filling them and pushed to its maximum limits of daily and weekly dispense patients. The solution they found - a robot which automates packaging of medication into a roll of transparent, easy-to-tear and labelled sachets - made life simpler – and, more importantly, safer, for both patients and pharmacy staff. ‘Making Medication Simple’ became the PillPacPlus slogan as they helped their colleagues far and wide to implement the same solution. Since then, PillPacPlus has expanded - providing sachets to over 75 community pharmacies in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In addition, PillPacPlus’ bespoke automated solutions are used locally in hospitals and prisons, providing simple compliance aids in places where dispensing regular medication was traditionally very challenging. Today, PillPacPlus staff have over 100 years of experience in the healthcare industry - adding people with experience working in software, user interface experience, online marketing, design and engineering - all diversifying the company’s offering and improving customer outcomes.
