Samantha Symes is a Psychologist and Psychotherapist with over 17 years work experience which includes sales/marketing, recruitment, career coaching, vocational rehabilitation and therapy. Her education includes Psychology qualifications to post-graduate level, a Business degree and a 4 year intensive Psychotherapy qualification withongoing professional development. Samantha’s working style has been described as open and warm. Within the session her authentic, pragmatic approach both enables,empowers and guides clients. Drawing upon CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA), Existential Psychotherapy, Motivational interviewing, Interpersonal Psychotherapy to work cohesively with all clients. Payments/Rebates: Pay directly with credit card or transfer via direct depost after first session. Medicare rebates paid direct into your account with a GP Mental Health Plan &/or receipts provided for use with private health insurance (soon to be processed on site). Medicare: Under Medicare you are entitled, once reviewed by a GP to 10 sessions in a calendar year under Medicare. With a mental health plan, you can receive a rebate of $84.80 per session for your first 6 sessions, then after a GP review, you can gain another 4 sessions with a rebate. Samantha practices integrative relational psychotherapy which provides a deeper level to her work & assists clients to move towards lasting, integrated change. Relational psychotherapy allows a client, in relation with their therapist; to better understand their own inner world. It examines patterns of thinking and behaviour that keep occurring despite attempts to change, while the impact of early attachment styles are explored within current relationships.
