About Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group
Mission: PCRG builds the capacity of community development leaders to achieve racial and economic equity in the Allegheny region. Membership: Working on behalf of our membership base of Community Development Corporations, Community-Based Organizations, and related nonprofits, we act as the voice of community development at the local, state, and federal levels. Approach: The Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) is a consortium of community leaders working for economic justice, equitable investment practices, and sufficient financial resources to revitalize communities throughout Allegheny County. PCRG represents 60 member organizations and has the ability to leverage their collective voice and position in the community to advocate for an array of policies. To date, PCRG has relied on wide-reaching advocacy, well researched policies, and grassroots mobilization across a number of priority pillars. PCRG utilizes its connections to members, businesses, government, and communities to drive positive change in social policies affecting those who live in low- and-moderate-income areas and communities of color. PCRG staff focus on research, outreach, and policy implementation Impact: Since 1988, we have brought significant public and private investment into the region. Through fostering community leadership, convening disparate stakeholders, and providing research and learning opportunities, we increase the resources that grow from and flow into our member communities.
