About Place Collective UK

Join as a member for free on our website! A small group of urban environment specialists and placemakers came together a few years ago, wanting to build a network of people which could explore changing places across the UK, consider collaborative work models and share best practice. Since then we have grown to over 1000 members from across the UK. We’ve run numerous field trips, socials and opportunities to discuss and debate. Place Collective UK is excited to be affiliated to global partner PlacemakingX. Through this partnership, we share with and learn from placemaking groups worldwide, as well as arranging visits and welcoming guests. WHO WE ARE We are a collective that comes together to help define place. To create it, debate it and celebrate it. We are architects, urban designers, planners, policy makers, cultural and economic development strategists, placemaking entrepreneurs and community developers. We are free to join and open to all. WHY WE ARE We believe that place can only be achieved by collective input and community output. We are committed to ensuring that placemaking is and remains an inclusive process. WHAT WE DO We hold field trips of a bi-monthly basis, in London and across the UK, sharing both best practice and challenges faced. These are free and open to all members – a safe space to discuss and debate. We also hold regular socials each year for members to get to network in a more sedentary environment, and are affiliated to global partner PlacemakingX allowing us to engage with placemakers across the world.
