About Placer

Placer’s mission is to ensure that every young person regardless of social background, increases their work readiness and employability skills to successfully transition from education into work and apprenticeships. We achieve this by delivering our Work Readiness programme, consisting of sixteen CPD-accredited online courses focussed on key soft skills and employability skills. At the end of the programme, all learners receive a digital certificate showing they are Certified Work Ready. For graduates of our Work Readiness programme, they can then join our Placer Talent Network to create their profile, uploading their CV and link to their LinkedIn profile. We then encourage employers and recruiters to find talent on our Talent Network either through browsing profiles and inviting them to apply for programmes, or through the traditional job board functionality. Our aim Our aim is to prevent young people becoming NEET or if they do, giving them a way out of it as young people stay in the network even when they leave sixth form/college. Placer Vision A world where every young person has access to the employability skills and work opportunities to thrive in life. Placer Mission Ensuring every young person, regardless of social background, increases their employability to successfully transition from education into work. Placer Purpose Tackling youth unemployment by providing access to employability skills training and connecting them with work opportunities so that no young person ends up not in education, employment or training. We work with schools, colleges and universities to prevent NEET, as well as bootcamps to help those who are NEET, transition successfully into work and apprenticeships. We work with employers looking to recruit early career talent with the skills for immediate productively. Employers also take our training for their new recruits to speed up the onboarding process, as well as sponsoring schools/colleges/universities.
