About Plan for Ecology

Located on the Penryn University Campus in Cornwall, Plan for Ecology Ltd is an ecological consultancy that provides ecology surveys and assessments. We are a in-house team of 8 ecologists supported by a network of associate ecologists. We provide UKHab Surveys, NVC Surveys, MoRPh Surveys, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA), Appropriate Assessments (AA), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments, protected species surveys, Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMP), Landscape and Ecological Management Plans (LEMPS), BREEAM and CEEQUAL Assessments. We have considerable in-house experience. Combined we hold protected species licences for dormouse (CL10a), bats (CL18 Level 2 bat licence; CL21 Bat Low Impact Class Licence; Earned Recognition Class Licence WML-CL47 Annex A & B), barn owl (CL29) and project specific licences for bats (A13) and badger (A24 & LR24). We are experienced Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) consultants. Our ecologist’s work closely with relevant stakeholders to maximise the biodiversity value of development sites, and as accredited Building with Nature (BwN) Assessors, we can assist should you decide to showcase your achievements through a BwN Award. We have also been leading the way by quantifying the baseline value of Ecological Assets belonging to private estates, universities, hospitals and commercial properties to guide habitat restoration and creation through nature-based solutions. We pride ourselves on providing impartial advice, and professional, efficient and cost-effective ecological services. Our portfolio ranges from single housing plots and the modernization of listed buildings, to large residential, commercial and industrial developments, pipeline installation, wind turbines and solar PV farms. We provide 'Ecological Clerk of Works' (ECoW) services and acquire protected species mitigation licences on behalf of our clients.
