About Plan New Hampshire

Plan NH supports and fosters excellence in planning, design and development of the built environment in New Hampshire. Our members share a vision of healthy and vibrant towns and neighborhoods. We recognize that what we build, how we build and where have an impact on the social, economic and environmental fabrics of our communities. We promote walkable, mixed-use town centers that are designed for everyone. We encourage choices in types of homes and their locations, as well as choices in how one can get to jobs, school, healthy food, social connections and more. We contend that community design is a critical element in supporting Boomers as we age as well as economic development as a whole. Our audiences are planners, designers and/or developers and related professionals, as well as our New Hampshire communities - their citizens and their citizen leaders. We provide workshops and other means of raising awareness of the importance of these concepts. Our flagship program is the Community Design Charrette, during which a team of volunteers, by invitation, spends two days in a community to help them, through design, address a particular challenge.
