Planetary Design About Us It all started with a man in Montana who was passionate about two things: backpacking through the wilderness, and brewing the perfect cup of coffee. In the backcountry, though, he had to settle for burnt coffee, instant coffee, or worst of all, no coffee. This passion led to the formation of Planetary Design, and one of the best travel French Presses on the planet was born. As with anything we’re passionate about, we didn’t stop there. We saw a need for a truly “air-less” storage solution for freshly roasted coffee beans. A product that would keep freshness-destroying oxygen away from precious coffee beans, preserving freshness and flavor. We invented it, and called it the AIRSCAPE®.
