The Problem - Look around, I’m sure during the day you’ve seen some plastic waste that has been casually discarded on the side of the road or in the local park. Swim in the ocean, and I’m sure you will find some as there’s around 8 million tonnes of plastic that end up in the ocean every year. Plastic is everywhere in fact we are producing over 300 million tonnes of plastic every year. Its estimated that 8.3 billion tonnes have been produced since the 1950’s; and only 9 % has been recycled. Plastic has become an important part of our everyday lives but our generation and the generation before us has been irresponsible with how we dispose of it. Is this the legacy we want to leave for future generations. We need to find a solution. This isn’t the responsibility of one person or country but should be a global effort to help address a global problem. The good news is people are beginning to realize that there is a problem. The question is what can WE do with it? About Us-We are a group of likeminded individuals that come from similar backgrounds, passionate about the environment and the community around us. We have designed a Modular, flat packable Structure made from recycled plastic. The idea began last year and was born from two main points, seeing the amount of people that are finding themselves living on the street surrounded by their worldly belongings, and being astonished by the number of tents are being left behind after a variety of music festivals. Our aim is to approach councils and charities and being able to offer a cheaper and safe alternative to people sleeping rough, we want to speak with festival and large event organisers and give them an option to provide their visitors with a comfortable and sustainable replacement for tents. Small businesses that can’t afford premises that need the flexibility to move sites quickly and easily.
