About Plastic Odyssey
What if the fight against plastic pollution could be a valuable resource for local development? What if entire populations, which suffer from this pollution’s mismanagement, could economically benefit from the recycling of this waste? What if plastic could actually hold value, and empower thousands of communities? Plastic Odyssey aims to fight against plastic pollution by acting at the source: ashore. Our ambition? Build a global network of local initiatives. How? By encouraging social entrepreneurship at the local level, developing low-tech and open source technologies, and stimulating social engagement to empower local communities. Our means? A 40 meters laboratory vessel, ambassador for the reduction and recycling of plastic waste that conceives, creates and develops simple solutions accessible to all, to reduce plastic pollution in the Ocean. Our set of technical solutions onboard is resilient to local needs and means. It can either consolidate an already established recycling network or lay the former's foundations. This vessel will circumnavigate along the world’s most polluted coasts to reconcile global challenges with local development. Please reach out to us at partnerships@plasticodyssey.org if you are interested in any collaboration, we would love to have you onboard!
