About Play for Change
Play for Change is an International SPORT for DEVELOPMENT non-profit organization, with the aim of improving the life expectations of children and young people living in vulnerable contexts or in economic, cultural and social distress by delivering inclusive and sustainable sports and educational programs to develop more integrated communities. Founded in 2013, we have benefited more than 10.000 children through 8 different projects in 7 locations around the world. Along with the Italian Social Enterprise, we aim to enhance life opportunities for children and young people, living in vulnerable contexts or in economic, cultural and social distress, by spreading the values of sport as the most powerful key to overcome prejudice, reduce inequalities and break down social and cultural barriers. By creating inclusive and accessible sport activities and by equipping young generations with the life skills they need, we unleash new possibilities and better prepare them for the circumstances that future may present. We strongly believe that social interaction through sport and recreational arts leads to community development, life skills enhancement and healthy generations. Play for Change embraces an inclusive platform where sport and education are accessible to everyone and used as a tool to help the young generations become agents of change in their own development and communities. Play for Change’s approach to the long-term sustainability of programs development, has effectively contributed to the acceleration of the social innovation process and guaranteed transparency in the accountability of projects. Our innovative programs, carefully designed with our local partners are tailored to meet the needs of the beneficiaries and to deliver solutions which address social issues, ranging from gender equality, health and well-being, economic empowerment, education and community engagement.
