About Play Handball Za

PLAY HANDBALL ZA is a sport and development organisation based in South Africa focusing on the team sport handball. We see handball as a tool for personal and community development and, at the same time, as a way to support the development of the sport. PLAY HANDBALL ZA is an educational partner and kick-starter for handball for development in Africa. Our vision is to use handball to empower young people, especially girls, and to create an open-minded society based on respect, mutual support and unity without cultural, gender or racial boundaries! We support community-based organisations and schools with knowledge, equipment and volunteers. We develop educational programmes and training manuals for handball and life skills (train-the-trainer principle) - such as conflict resolution, environmental awareness, health and gender equality - and other ways of informal education for sustainable development to enable the young people to positively influence their future.
