About PlayScapes

At PlayScapes we are interested in collaboratively making sense of the challenges which can make working together less effective and fun. In particular, we work to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics of power, oppression, privilege, and inclusion and exclusion at play in organisational and community contexts. We draw on techniques from improvisation and applied theatre, Nonviolent Communication, and group analysis, to work with themes of difference, conflict, anxiety, confusion, stuckness and animosity in groups. We start from a recognition that our existence is deeply interdependent: we cannot do things alone - we depend upon each other and are bound to one another in a myriad of incomprehensibly complex ways. We aim to build a context of trust, openness, and connection where we can learn from each others’ different experiences, thereby expanding self-understanding and behavioural repertoires in the face of uncertainty. In addition to a wide range of public offerings we offer a wide range of organisational services including: - Convening and facilitating challenging conversations; - Mediation & Training; - Supervision services for consultants, HR and D&I professionals; - Executive coaches; and - Consulting services for the development of D&I policy.
