plexus r+d is a research and design studio founded in 1999 by: Jordan Williams and Erik Lewitt The firm has been recognized consistently through awards, honors and publications. Plexus was published in Architecture Now 3 in 2004,and was selected as one of ten international firms that comprise Architectural Record’s 2002 Design Vanguard. The Georgia AIA selected Plexus as an “emerging voice” in 2001, recognizing the quality and creativity inherent in our work. Since 1999, Plexus has received eight state and local AIA Awards for design excellence. As an emerging studio, we are committed to elevating our expectations, making each new project the most important the firm has engaged. As a design think tank, we address complex design challenges by focusing on strategic research and innovative problem solving, which lead to strategic and thoughtful intentions. We utilize our exceptional design and visualization skills to produce compelling spatial environments that produce memorable experiences. Our studio is a forum where great minds are assembled for the purpose of creating ideas and projects that embody the challenges of the present while embracing the promise of the future. Our projects are simultaneously about timeliness and endurance. We believe sustainability is a value and not a trend. It is created in the process of instilling a sense of relevance and integrity in the ideas, systems and structures that we generate. Integrity permeates our projects, manifesting itself at the scale of a concept as well as the scale of a detail. We believe that strong design is not a disposable commodity. Rather, it is an indispensible component of a successful project. We are keenly aware of the conventional and always skeptical of cliché. Design should be compelling, exciting, creative, and should have a strong sense of intention and purpose. Our projects capture people’s attention, engage with and inspire them.
