POC Doentes e Família (POCDF) At the POC Doentes e Família, our mission is to transform the landscape of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) awareness, support, and treatment in Portugal. Founded in April 2024, we are committed to inform about OCD, reducing stigma, and providing comprehensive resources for individuals affected by OCD. Our Objectives: Disseminate Accurate Information: We strive to overcome misinformation and the stigma associated with OCD by promoting knowledge and awareness about the condition across Portugal. Our goal is to ensure timely diagnosis and proper understanding of OCD. Support Inpatient and Social Reintegration Services: Our future plans include offering inpatient care for severe cases and supporting individuals in their social reintegration journey. Develop a Network of Specialized Professionals: We are building a national directory of validated health professionals, treatments, and support groups, endorsed by our Scientific Council. Additionally, we encourage the continuous education and training of new specialists in the field. Promote OCD Research: We foster research initiatives aimed at better understanding the progression of OCD and the effectiveness of various therapeutic approaches. What We Do: Provide educational resources and workshops to raise awareness about OCD. Facilitate connections between patients and specialized healthcare providers. Advocate for improved mental health policies and support systems. Engage in community outreach and support initiatives.
