Pocono GunKeepers began under the premise of certain people needing a safe and secure facility to store their firearms, side arms, long rifles and other valuable firearms. Such people include those persons going on vacation who do not want to leave their guns in an unoccupied home. Those families who may have an opioid dependency and do not feel safe ( even if their firearms are in a safe ) keeping guns at their home, those persons living out of Pennsylvania whose laws may dictate that they can own a firearm, but not possess it within the state. The idea was also formulated after assessing the needs of law enforcement to also store firearms in a safe and secure environment. Pocono GunKeepers is supported by local law enforcement. The Poconos has great shooting ranges in close proximity to Pocono GunKeepers where those out-of-state persons can come up for the weekend, enjoy the use of their firearms and then put them back into storage. Those parties who are handling an estate that may have firearms are required by the auctioneer or the Executor to safely put those firearms in the estate in a facility until such time they are either auctioned, sold or given through the estate, to a third party. The facility is completely humidity controlled to ensure no humidity can affect any firearm stored at Pocono GunKeepers. Pocono GunKeepers is open 7 days a week by appointment. Soon, hours will include Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate those persons from out of state.
