About Polaris Magazine

Polaris is an independent travel magazine and an art collective with the theme of “journey of contemplation”. Our members are based in Japan, England, China, and Chile. What is the journey of contemplation? The modern age lets people journey all around the world easily. Brilliant sights of exotic places fill social media. Because of this day and age, we wanted to explore the core value of the act of journeying. Discovering the core value of journeying is the starting point of this magazine. The significance of journeying is not reaching the destination, but the adventure that happens while getting there. Journeying changes the rhythm of our clocks. We realize the beauty within everyday that we did not bat an eye towards. We encounter people and their vastly different lives. The value of journeying is to hear other people’s narratives and re-spin my own narrative. In order to experience days filled with wonder, days full of hope.
