About Police Data Accessibility Project
We help people use data to answer questions about their local police systems. We’re a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit. We produce open-source code and maintain a database which tracks data sources about police, courts, and jails across the country. There are about 18,000 police agencies with a responsibility to make data public, and each municipality acts independently. Our staff and volunteers produce open-source tools to help journalists, data scientists, and ordinary community members find, access, and share data.
