About Polytechnic School of Mieres

La Escuela Politécnica de Mieres (EPM) ofrece cinco grados de ingeniería de 4 años. 4 de ellos son habilitantes profesionalmente por ley en las ramas de minas, geomática, forestal y civil. Además ofrece un doble grado de 5 años de minas y civil, y 5 másteres: en ingeniería de caminos, canales y puertos, y en geotecnología y desarrolo de proyectos SIG, en ingeniería de minas, en PRL y en materiales. La EPM tiene sus orígenes en 1855 y desde entonces se ha ido adaptado a los cambios sociales y económicos que se han sucedido. En este tiempo se ha mantenido como referente a nivel nacional tanto en su oferta de especialidades en ingeniería. Entrado el siglo XXI la EPM estrenó el actual Campus de Mieres, las instalaciones más modernas de la Universidad de Oviedo. En 2022 la EPM se convirtió en el primer centro universitario de Asturias en adherirse y comprometerse formalmente con la Agenda 2030 de la ONU y sus 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, poniendo en valor el rol fundamental de la ingeniería en su consecución.
