Carbon fiber has become the material of choice for high-end, performance oriented bicycle frames for both on and off road use. Although this material has many advantages over conventional metal construction it also has a reputation for being fragile and un-repairable. Starting in 2006 PolyTube Cycles has been developing a method of testing and repairing damaged carbon fiber bicycles frames. Instead of writing off a frame after an accident has occurred, PolyTube Cycles can test, repair and refinish it. This not only saves the owner money since the cost of repair generally fall far short of the cost of a new frame, it also lowers the impact on the ecology. PolyTube Cycles also offers customisation service in combination with repairs. The bike owner can choose how the frame will be finished. Anything from a simple clear coat to airbrush individualized painting schemes is possible. Customised add-on parts such as a chainstay guard or downtube guard can be made to exactly match the shape of the frame. The consumer can choose almost any type of fabric, as well. To ensure the quality of all work, PolyTube Cycles tests both in-house and through independent testing facilities. All repairs are covered by a 2 year conditional warrantee against failure in normal use.
