Pon Design is a new breed of cutting-edge contemporary design. Our designs raise from the context of historical art, conceptual style and contemporary design, skilfully combining traditional and sustainable modern materials. The self-taught designer merging boundaries between art and functional design is Laura Gaiteiro, who after years of experience as fine art specialist, decided to develop her own view of aesthetic, embracing her lifelong fascination with functional art and the visual and emotional effects of glass. We feature a unique collection of mirrors and decorative furniture which charmingly entangle fine art and design disciplines. Our pieces are one-of-a-kind, each one being a valuable handcrafted design. We embrace the psychologycal aspect of the power of self reflection as encounter of self discovery journey. The beauty of glass transformed into an empowering tool inviting us to look beyond our surface appearance, and come face to face with ourselves. The viewer’s reflection becomes part of the mirror, inviting us to deeper look into our internal identity. The viewer’s changing reflection alters how we encounter the work, making it a very personal experience. A fascinating concept, gleaming surface and sinuous form come into seductive pieces of luxury. Each Pon Design mirror is handcrafted and assembled in Holland. We use a trusted network of local providers and artisans. We take greatest care with quality of our finishes and personally inspect each end product. Our choice for modern production materials is driven by an interest for environmentally friendly resources. That’s why our acrylic designs are made of recycled plastics ‘infinitely’ recyclable. Same philosophy for all our packaging, 100% unbleached, uncoated and biodegradable.
