Pontchartrain Express, Inc. is a dynamic, swift and safe passenger ferry service that will transport commuters from the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville, to the South Shore at West End Boulevard in New Orleans and vice versa. At the North Shore ferry landing, adjacent to Sunset Point, ample parking will be available to commuters, or bike racks for the sporty, health‐conscious commuter. From the North Shore landing, one of our swift ferries will transport commuters to the South Shore in approximately 40 minutes. During this exciting trip across Lake Pontchartrain, passengers can enjoy comfortable seating, TV’s, free wireless internet, bathrooms and a coffee stand set up by a local Mandeville catering service. This gives our passengers the freedom to send emails, make phone calls, review notes, read the paper, or just relax and enjoy the ride and view. Upon disembarking on the South Shore, commuters will be transported to central locations throughout the New Orleans area in luxury express shuttles/buses. Locations are based and determined by our market research and surveys, and include: Central Business District, Universities, Hospitals, French Quarter, Airport, etc. South Shore shuttle/Bus transit time should be approximately 15‐20 minutes, traffic and weather permitting. The “Pontchartrain Express 1” is a hydrofoil‐supported catamaran (HYSUCAT), which will be discussed at further length in the vessel specifications section. This catamaran offers high initial stability in rough chop and large deck areas, while the hydrofoils provide reduced resistance which in turn reduces the energy (i.e. propulsion, fuel, etc.) consumption. “Pontchartrain Express 1” is also equipped with the latest navigation instruments, radar and safety equipment, enabling the ferry to run on schedule during heavy rain, fog and strong winds.
