About Popham Kidney Support
As a charity, we are here to help, you are not alone. We can help you improve your emotional, financial and physical wellbeing and improve your knowledge through education. We can also campaign for better services for you. Popham Kidney Support is a registered charity that was set-up in March 2013, in January 2015 received registered charity status. The Charity name was changed in May 2022. The Charity has a simple aim to provide children, youths and adults with kidney disease and their families and carers in Wales to lead a better quality of life. Our mission is to improve our community’s quality of life by providing services that improve their emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing improve our community’s knowledge through education. We collaborate with clinical teams and other charities in Wales on projects that support our aims and we campaign for better services for our community. These are achieved through clear objectives – to put our kidney community first, by providing support to: - Improve emotional wellbeing through our Peer Support and Counselling Services. Our Peer Support Service provides one to one support, and group support through our Kidney Café’s and also provides telephone support through our careline. Also supporting projects that aim to improve general wellbeing - Improve financial wellbeing through our patient grants and providing financial advice. We also provide grants or fund items for renal teams that directly improve the patient’s quality of life. - Improving physical wellbeing by promoting and working with transplant games, transplant sport and by providing an Exercise for Health Group. - Provide education tools that improve the patient’s knowledge to make informed decisions. Educating our community through informational Q&A’s, education programs and Newsletter. - Challenging the status quo, lobbying government and organisation to understand changes needed to improve our community’s quality of life.
