From 18 December till 17 January the city of Groningen will be overwhelmed with Music Photography. During the ‘Popview Outdoor’ exhibition music photos will be attached to facades of prominent buildings in the main centre of Groningen and can be seen in various streets. With the coming of the Serious Request, a charity project of the Dutch radio station 3FM and the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival, Groningen will be the pop city of Holland during that period. In case of this happening the town centre of Groningen will be turned into a public exhibition space for music photography. Popview Outdoor contains work of young talented European music photographers that have been nominated for the Lex van Rossen Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Included are photos of Annie Hoogendoorn (NL) and Tom Verbruggen (BE). Hoogendoorn and Verbruggen have won the Lex van Rossen Award in 2008 and 2009. The photos can be seen around the Grote Markt, De Vismarkt, het Boterdiep, Der Aa-kerk and The Groninger Museum. For the visitors of the Serious request project the photography will be used as passageway from the central station to the Grote Markt.
