About Porrelli Ice Cream
Porrelli is a luxury Italian style ice cream manufacturer based in Paisley, Scotland, providing ice cream and frozen goods to both the catering and retail markets. We are known for innovation within the industry, combining modern trends with traditional flavours, our most popular products being our Scottish Tablet Ice Cream and Iron Brew Ice Cream. The company was established by Gerardo Porrelli in 1925 when he immigrated to Scotland from San Biagio in Southern Italy. He settled in Paisley with his family and began to produce delicious ice cream using traditional recipes brought from his homeland. We proudly entered our 100th year in 2025 and Porrelli is still very much a family business. The current Managing Director, Dario Durante is the great grandson of the founder Gerardo and he is supported by his father Enzo and mother Ines. Together they lead a very passionate team that is committed to delivering quality and service that has seen generations of people across Scotland enjoy Porrelli Ice Cream. In January 2008 Porrelli moved production of their high quality Italian style ice cream to their ‘state of the art’ ice cream factory. Upgraded equipment and processes has increased capacity to over 6000 litres of delicious ice cream every day. It is this secret family recipe that has been handed down through the family over the years that has helped Porrelli to win numerous industry awards. And these in turn have helped to establish the brand as being trusted and respected for its quality throughout the catering trade, frozen wholesalers, cash & carrkes and multiple retailers. Porrelli have a fleet of refrigerated vehicles that travel across the central belt of Scotland, delivering a diverse and delicious range of ice creams, premium Italian gateaux, frozen desserts, sundries and savoury food products to the catering market. We work in partnership with other wholesalers and cover almost the whole of Scotland from the Isles to the Borders.
